West and Central Africa – Regional Strategy 2020–2024

The IOM Regional Strategy for West and Central Africa aims at bolstering positive migration dynamics in the region by pursuing the strategic objectives of resilience, mobility and governance, as defined in the IOM Strategic Vision. Taking into account the versatile socioeconomic and geopolitical landscape of the region, the Regional Strategy stimulates implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by tapping into the opportunities that migration holds. It also provides guidance on how to bring about institutional development, complimenting the positive contributions of IOM to the migration landscape of the region.

The Regional Strategy helps to reinforce the role of IOM as the driving force in the global conversation on migration, as it continues to respond to current and emerging challenges, positioning the Organization to better serve Member States and migrant populations throughout all stages of their journey across the region and beyond.
