Migration Profile of the Republic of Serbia for 2010
The Migration Profile of the Republic of Serbia 2010 is the result of the project “Strengthening the capacity of institutions of Serbia responsible for migration management and the reintegration of returnees,” funded by the European Union through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, and jointly implemented by the Commissioner for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration. It is the first document of its kind developed by relevant national institutions and was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in February 2012. By embracing this important document, the obligations defined through the road map for visa liberalization had been fulfilled. With this publication, the Republic of Serbia has attained for the first time an instrument that contains all migration-related data and represents an important tool not only for policymakers at the national level, and international partners, but also for researchers and the academic community dealing with migration. This document is only the start and updates and assessments will be carried out on the situation in the Field, collecting data on migration to identify key problems and to offer recommendations and guidelines for the coming year.
