A Gender-sensitive Baseline Report on the Nexus between Migration, the Environment and Climate Change (MECC): Gaps, Priorities and Key Entry Points for MECC Mainstreaming in Malawi

The migration, environment and climate change (MECC) baseline assessment report was developed from qualitative and quantitative data collected through community-level surveys and key informant interviews with key national and district stakeholders in Malawi. The report aims to provide information on community perspectives of migration, as it relates to environment and climate change. It also provides information on the gaps and key entry points for mainstreaming MECC nexus issues in Malawi. The information is to be used by policymakers, project developers and implementers at all levels and organizations that implement policy advocacy in Malawi. IOM supported the assessment as part of its ongoing MECC programming in Malawi, which aims at strengthening policy and development planning frameworks through the inclusion of MECC nexus issues and priorities.
