Migration in Eswatini: A Country Profile 2015–2021

This Migration Profile is the result of a joint initiative implemented by IOM and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Eswatini. It brings together available relevant data and information on migration and provides policy directives and recommendations to enhance evidence-based policymaking and implementation. This instrument is expected to spark a dynamic process that will foster long-term engagement and commitment that will contribute to the development of the Migration Policy for the better management of migration in Eswatini.

This Migration Profile first examines the demographic, socioeconomics and labour market characteristics of Eswatini. It also presents key figures and trends relating to international and internal migration and then analyses links between the country’s socioeconomic development.
