Migration Initiatives 2012

Migration Initiatives 2012 outlines IOM’s annual initiatives worldwide for which the Organization is seeking financial support so as to continue meeting the priority needs of migrants, Member and Observer States and other partners. The funding requirements outlined in this document total roughly USD 837 million for over 740 projects worldwide.

The initiatives presented in Migration Initiatives 2012 cover areas of emergency and post-crisis operations, migration health, community stabilization and development, voluntary assisted return and reintegration, counter-trafficking, technical cooperation, labour migration, policy consultation, research and international migration law. Through this document, IOM presents a set of regional key priorities that the Organization aims to address to keep pace with the constantly evolving global migration environment. IOM aims to remain at the forefront of efforts to respond to these challenges by continuing projects already initiated and developing innovative approaches. The Organization’s main goal is to promote orderly and humane migration for the benefit of both migrants and the society.
