Description:

In 2018, IOM’s emergency programmes reached over 30 million people globally, addressing the most pressing needs of women, men and children displaced or affected by the consequences of crises, including conflict, violence, slow- and sudden-onset natural disasters and epidemics. With its focus on the mobility dimensions of crises, IOM’s emergency assistance primarily reached internally displaced persons, followed by refugees, migrants and communities at large. This report provides a snapshot of IOM’s crisis-related programming during the past year. It presents updates on IOM’s activities, ranging from emergency preparedness and response to transition and recovery – programmatic areas that are led and supported by the Department of Operations and Emergencies and closely coordinated with other departments within the Organization.
