IOM's Evacuation Assistance to Ethiopian Migrants stranded in Yemen

Since the start of the war in Yemen in late March 2015, thousands of migrants find themselves in an extremely vulnerable situation. Despite the ongoing conflict, Yemen remains a transit county for thousands of Ethiopian migrants to reach the Arabian Peninsula. Each month, an estimated 10,000 migrants enter Yemen irregularly.

This booklet is a photo story of the International Organization for Migration's (IOM) evacuation assistance including pre-departure, transit and post-arrival assistance to Ethiopian migrants stranded in Yemen. Through this booklet, the return journeys of 414 migrants from Yemen to Ethiopia is documented; this is a project funded by the European Union’s International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO).
