Since 2001 the International Dialogue on Migration has been providing states and other relevant actors a forum for open and inclusive debate on key migration policy aspects and for advancing understanding, dialogue and cooperation on migration governance.
The governance of migration at the global level has undergone incremental and substantial changes in recent years. Most notable are the adoption of the 2016 New York Declaration on Refugees and Migrants at the UN General Assembly and ongoing efforts to advance two global compacts.
Since 2000, IOM has been producing world migration reports. This World Migration Report 2018, the ninth in the world migration report series, has been produced to contribute to increased understanding of migration throughout the world.
