Migration Policy Practice (Vol. VII, Number 4, December 2017 - January 2018)

Special Issue on World Migration Report

The focus of this edition of the Migration Policy Practice (MPP) is the World Migration Report 2018, which is the ninth in the series. Since 2000, IOM has been producing world migration reports to contribute to increased understanding of migration throughout the world. This new edition is organized in a two-part structure to best discuss the increasingly complex dynamics of international migration. Part I presents key data and information on global and regional migration trends and part II comprises thematic chapters on highly topical migration issues.

This special issue of MPP includes abridged versions of selected chapters to highlight key information and analysis. They provide a taste of the substantive contributions that the World Migration Report 2018 makes towards enhancing knowledge on migration and informing policy debates with evidence-based analysis.

The editors would like to invite readers to spare a couple of minutes to participate in a short readers’ satisfaction survey. The purpose of this survey, which can be taken anonymously, is to help us identify our readers’ profiles, the institutions they represent and their primary interests in our journal. The survey responses should contribute, in particular, to adjusting and improving, as appropriate, the journal’s contents, style and reader’s experience.
