The “Health of Migrants in an Increasingly Globalized World: Special IOM 60th Anniversary Edition of the Migration Health Division’s (MHD) Annual Report for 2010”, highlights IOM’s health activities in 2010, as well as views from important IOM partners and leading health entities on a range of migration health topics. Key achievements in three main programmatic areas in 2010 are presented: Migration Health Assessments and Travel Health Assistance; Health Promotion and Assistance for Migrants; and Migration Health Assistance for Crisis-Affected Populations. This report aptly illustrates IOM’s growing multidimensional migration health activities and global partnerships, as IOM celebrates sixty years of assisting migrants and governments in addressing migration-related health challenges worldwide. Guided by the Resolution on the Health of Migrants adopted by the World Health Assembly in May 2008, the Report demonstrates IOM’s commitment to advance the health of migrants and their families, and to support IOM Member States in managing migration health through strategic networks and partnerships.
