Description : The report covers the services delivered during 2004 by the IOM Migration Health Department to a wide variety of migrants, including internally displaced, refugees, returnees, victims of trafficking, irregular migrants and labour migrants, during all phases of the migration process: pre-departure, transit, upon arrival in the host community, and return.
Activities encompass a range of health-related services in accordance with the challenges facing mobile populations today, and show the continued commitment by IOM Member States and donors regarding the management and operational assistance to address such challenges. The principal themes of service delivery in 2004 were:
- Migration health assessments for the purpose of resettlement;
- Post-emergency migration health assistance;
- HIV/AIDS and population mobility, and
- Irregular migration and health.
In addition, a list of relevant recent publications, statistics and a financial overview illustrate the work carried out.
